Hiya, if you didn't know already I am Jodie Forshaw, and this page will let you know all about me and what got me into radio. I am a student studying performing arts at Chester University, and i am currently going into my third year and should hopefully be getting a degree from this hard work but lets not get too excited.

 

I have been a bit of a traveler, as my dad was in the army this led me to live in lots of different countries including Germany and Kenya.

Kenya is where I first realized that the man on the radio was talking to me, I never realized that there was anyone in that little music box until then and this led me to dream of the world of radio.

 

I always pretended I could be a radio presenter, which my mum and dad said it was possible as I can talk for Britain, taking as little breaths between sentences as possible. But depressing as it sounds I never thought it was possible!!!!

 

UNTILL!!! I met the BIGGEST Big Al in the world not only in height and size but in personality, he has had a big influence on me and has had a big helping hand in getting me here. I started working at Cheshire FM during a placement with my university, this lasted 6 weeks in which I wanted to learn as much as could during this time. I got my best grade of the year from working there and I have learned not only the technology but also how to work as a team. I would recommend anyone to work as hard as they can when given this type of opportunity you never know what it could bring for you in the future.

 

Since my placement I have worked along side Big Al, his "side kick" as he calls me, this gave me a chance learn about the music and scheduling for the show, along with getting people in for him to interview. I began to learn more about the community and everything that goes on around Cheshire, as I am from Chester this was a benefit for me.

 

I have also learned that there must be something in the water around Cheshire because everyone here always looks so young it needs to be bottled up and sold.
