A new waste plant that will be built on the outskirts of Northwich, could create over 70 new jobs.

Cheshire West and Chester Council revealed on Monday that two rival companies that are looking to win the multi million pound contract and manage the county's waste for the next 25 years. Both looking at  locations in Mid Cheshire area.

Resource Recovery Solutions, says it will create nearly 70 new jobs by building a waste treatment plant at the business park in Wincham.

Rivals Viridor said it will create a development of a new mec anical and biological treatment plant in Lostock Gralam at the site previously out lined for an incinerator.

The final decision on the proposed location is expected to be made by late autumn.
